92. Ascension of Jesus

Luke: Acts 1, 2-9. A.D. 35. Mount of Olives.

Ascension of Jesus ..UNTO the apostles whom he had chosen Jesus shewed himself alive after his passion: and, being assembled with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem: saith he,

Wait (tarry in Jerusalem) for the promise of the Father, which ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

They asked him, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? He said,

It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost parts of the earth.

When he had spoken, while they beheld, he was taken up. Ascension of Jesus

There are indeed more sayings of our Lord in the Acts of the Apostles, particularly in relationship to the apostle for the gentiles, Paul. There is also much in the book of revelations. For us however this is FINIS!
You may not immediately experience it, but the change of mind and heart will come. We paraphrase the words of a great thinker, who said something to the effect that “exposing yourself to greatness (in this case our Lord Jesus Christ), is like standing close to a fireplace; whether you are interested or not, you will benefit from the warmth”. WE HOPE THAT YOU HAVE WARMED UP TO THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD!
